Top 10 Movie Countdown Blogfest
Alex J. Cavanaugh is hosting the Top 10 Movie Countdown Blogfest today.
I am trying to get in gear and start posting regularly before the April blog challenge, so I'm participating in some fun little blog hops between now and then! This is one of them. Some of my favorites, not necessarily in this order:
1. The Lord of the Rings
2. Braveheart
3. The Sandlot
4. Les Miserables
5. Harry Potter
6. Sister Act (1 & 2)
7. The Apostle
8. The Devil Wears Prada
9. Anne of Green Gables/Anne of Avonlea
10. The Holiday
There are, of course, others - but these came to mind, and I'm pretty sure they are my favorites! I am eager to see Jack the Giant Slayer, and also Oz. And I still haven't seen Lincoln! So my list could change here soon....

Sister Act as a dude, I would like to say I was always a fan of any Whoopie's films and those were the best.

I agree! Whoopie is funny AND intelligent. Best of both worlds!
ReplyDeleteI caught the end of Devil Wears Prada again the other day and I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed it; great pick. Sister Act 1 and 2 are also superb films; so much fun (although my fav ever Whoopie film has to be Jumping Jack Flash) and LotR is just, well epic :). I haven't heard of some of the films on your list so I shall have to add them to the pile to look up.
ReplyDeleteYes! I am a Whoopie fan, but have not seen Jumping Jack Flash. Putting that on MY list! And the other movies up there are great; The Apostle isn't for everyone, but it gave me a lot to think about.
DeleteJumping Jack Flash is a riot, a bit dated now, but still a brilliant film.
DeleteThis is a great list. Still need to see Les Miserables. It's good to meet you, Melody. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat to meet you, too - thank you for stopping by! And do see Les Miserables; it completely exceeded my expectations.
DeleteI enjoyed the two Sister Act ones too, most of Whoopi's were good, except maybe that one with the dinosaur. The sandlot and Braveheart are favs too for sure.
ReplyDeleteSome movies just don't get old, no matter how much they age! Thank you for stopping by, Pat!
DeleteLoved Sister Act and Les Miz! So many films that I've not seen. I realize that I'll never run out of something to watch. . .
ReplyDeleteI know! Reading others' posts, I came across a lot of commentary. I will do that next time, too. It makes for better recommendations!
DeleteThe Holiday was on my list as well and I love Sister Act, the rest reads more like my daughter's list. Great list. I am doing AtoZ also and am now following you.

Thank you for the follow, Rhonda! I will return the honor :). And good luck with the challenge! I am very much looking forward to having so many interesting posts to read.
DeleteLOTR was my first pick! Awesome trilogy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating in my blogfest.
Thank you for spreading the word! I gained two or three new followers through it! Awesome. And yes, LOTR is my all-time favorite.
DeleteLes Mis is popping up an lists all over the place. I am going to have to see this movie.
ReplyDeleteDropping by from the A to Z Challenge. This will be my first year participating.

It will be my first time to participate, too. Good luck! I am looking forward to the challenge and to all the interesting posts I will get to read from fellow bloggers! And Les Mis is definitely worth your time.
ReplyDeleteI am always surprised when a new film (Les Mis) makes it onto a favorites list so quickly...I normally need some repeated viewing.
ReplyDeleteBraveheart and LOTR are both classics! And I'd forgotten The Sandlot...
There are actually very few movies I would view repeatedly. All of the above, I would. Les Mis is new, but it gave me SO MUCH to think about. And I think its message was tremendous. THAT is how it made my list so fast! Thank you for stopping by!
DeleteLOTR, HP and Sister Act made my list, too!

Sister Act must really have been a great movie to still be making people's lists! Thank you for the comment!
DeleteSandlot. Yes! How could I have forgotten such a great movie?
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I quote the Sandlot more days than not! It was always my "sit down with a bowl of icecream and rewatch" go-to in the summer when I was a teenager!
DeleteJust dropping in from the blog hop (late I know!) to say you've got an interesting list. I have much love for LotR as well, and I thoroughly enjoyed "Devil wears Prada". :3
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping in! I can watch LotR anytime.
