Refractions and Reflections

---1--- Junk to Jewels! Okay, well, not junk exactly. But definitely a refurbishment! Today I took a couple of barstools we had and turned them into some sleek little end tables for the little house we will be moving into next month. Trying to save space, and I think these do the trick!   In the process of drying (the color is grey, and I made my own chalk paint by mixing 2 parts paint, 1 part powdered/dry plaster of paris, and 1/2 part water). Found some little "wood plugs" for 59 cents each at Sutherlands and painted them, too. Dry(ish) paint Had some molding adhesive lying around, and it is clear, so that's what I used to attach both the plugs and the glass tops (below). I had two glass tops lying around from a couple of old, cheap three-legged plywood stands that I don't even have anymore (just threw the last one out last week because the flimsy legs were skewed and it toppled over all the time). Side view: Ta-da! :)   ...

---1--- I haven't blogged since Sunday night. I'm sorry I have been MIA from the "Blog Every Day in May" challenge. I will probably pick it back up here soon - just needed a break. I will return the love soon! ---2--- After my post Saturday about the ridiculous number of times I've fallen in my life , I rewatched an old favorite movie Sunday night: My Best Friend's Wedding . Want to know why it was my favorite? Well, besides the fact that it is absolutely charming, Julia Roberts falls 5 - go ahead, count them - 5 times in that movie. Seriously, that was one of the selling points for me. ---3---   Also Sunday night, while I was watching said movies, I had two giant pieces of cake. Two. Giant . Okay, and a third small piece. This was yesterday morning. Since I work third shift, this means I was about to go to sleep...but Albie was just being his usual playful puppy self. Here I was struggling to get him to stop trying to gnaw on my fingers long enough for me to take our picture. His hair is in the state it always takes after he manages to work out his topknot ;).  

--- 1 --- Here we are at the end of another week, and how fortuitous for me in the A to Z Blogging Challenge that "Q" falls on a Friday! (Note: the lines are still breaking off in the middle of words in this post, but at least the font is the same size and font throughout! It is a container garden, to be more precise. And, it is actually the second garden I have planted, but the last one I planted and then moved out of that house like 2 weeks later...so I didn't get to see it bear fruit (or vegetables), so it doesn't count. My container garden has spinach, romaine, red lettuce, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cucumbers, jumbo jalapenos, and tomatoes. I didn't have room on my balcony for more! --- 1 --- I have been following 7 Quick Takes for several years now and intended to participate for some time, but this is my first post! So exciting. --- 2 --- Today we preached the second sermon in our series in my homiletics class. The series is on Revelation. In this video, first is my series introduction, then my second sermon (I was not in class the day our first sermons were recorded). Some of you had requested the videos, so here is one! Remember we had a time limitation (15 minutes for the sermon); and also, I hear the camera adds about 60 pounds. I think my biggest self-critique would be that I smiled entirely too much - gotta work on looking more serious! ;) --- 3 --- If you are going to be reading my blog, perhaps you would like to know a little more about me.
